Funding tip: Investments in sustainable development continue

In January 2023, Business Finland has announced new funding programmes for sustainable development that will enable innovation projects by SMEs.

The new funding programmes for sustainable future are:

• Battery Industry funding call 2023 for responsible and sustainable investments in the battery value chain;

• 6G Bridge programme in support of the Digital Native Finland mission to build international telecommunications innovation networks; and

• Decarbonized cities programme to promote sustainable carbon neutral urban solutions.

Battery Industry funding call 2023
The funding call for the battery industry is targeted at sustainable pilot and demonstration projects and investments in recycling/reuse. The deadline for applications is Friday 31.3.2023.

6G Bridge programme
The 6G Bridge programme aims to develop new telecoms innovations and foster ecosystem communities in the sector. Finnish ICT companies can apply for innovation funding for business development through the programme. The 6G Bridge launch seminar will take place on Monday 6 February 2023 from 10-14.30.

Decarbonized cities programme
Companies can apply for grants and loans for piloting and RDI projects through the Decarbonized cities programme. The programme aims to develop Finland's competitiveness and cooperation networks and to reduce carbon emissions in cities. The programme's international partner cities Madrid, Los Angeles, Singapore and some Swedish cities will present their challenges at the programme's kick-off event. The date of the kick-off event has not yet been announced.
